I believe sweet wood is another name for licorice. See the 3rd paragraph under etymology on this page:

Anyways I just started watching your great Tea vodcast. You guys are hilarious and it’s great seeing what you think of all the different teas you try.
Well my cup of tea is empty again and my homemade cranberry orange scone has been reduced to a pile of crumbs. So I think I’ll call it a night.
