As a jazz enthusiast, I am particularly fond of tea when it’s jazzed up and sung by a legend, so for today’s little tidbit teabit, enjoy “Tea for Two,” performed by Nat King Cole:
Do you have any favorite songs that mention our favorite beverage? Throw a shout out in the comments if there are other musical dedications to tea that are noteworthy. :)
Do you know of a great tea company that might want to send us some tea samples to review? STeaP is actively accepting submissions for reviews in 2008, and we would love to review tea companies that are loved by YOU, the viewer. Send us your suggestions, and don’t forget that Friday (THIS Friday) is the last day to send us your submission for the huge Tea Showdown of 2008!
Just send us an email at steap@steaptv.com with the name of your favorite tea, how to properly prepare it, and hopefully you’ll be picked to win fabulous prizes during our first episode of 2008!
I know that we haven’t done a flowering tea on the show yet, but I’d really like to, because they are incredibly cool to watch and are often quite tasty. Here is one particularly good video of a blooming green tea from OolongTeaHouse:
TeaPosy makes and sells flowering teas and they also have a video that showcases some of their best work:
Maybe it’s time we did a flowering tea episode! Let us know what you think. :)
I’ve been putzing around the internet, looking for other tea content recently, and I found this hilarious tea commercial from Japan. I think I’ve already watched it ten times, and it’s still making me laugh. Hope you enjoy the random tea-related chuckle for today, and don’t forget to check out this week’s oolong episode!
What do you do when your co-host is rude and talks on the phone during taping? Feed her a tea with bugs in it, of course!
This week we’re trying a tea with a very long name, Formosa Natural Baihao Oolong Choice. This tea is one of the free samples sent to us by AuraTeas. Can a tea chewed on by cicadas really be any good? Watch and see.
Masto, our fellow tea enthusiast and correspondent, has come through with a hilarious episode of Does It Go With Tea? (DIGWT), which I had to share with all of you.
Hopefully it will tide you over until tomorrow’s new episode of STeaP hits the net.
Coming up next week will be an episode about a tea from a new kid on the tea selling block, Aurateas. We got four free samples from them recently and thought we should give them a big thank you for helping out.
Here’s a great video by Masto and BerryGirl about the different Chai teas that they have sitting around the house. It’s a real head to head battle to see which Chai reigns supreme. You might be surprised at the results.
And I swear I’ve seen something like this before, I just can’t put my finger on where. ;)
The episode you’ve been waiting for, the breakfast tea rematch. Will throwing a quality Adagio tea in the mix change the results? Will switching seats help the tasters? Will everything taste like green beans from now on?
Stay tuned, Steaple!

Here is the most complete description of tea grades I have ever seen from STeaP’s good friend, Masto on Viddler. He really breaks out the teas for this one!
